Life & Career Milestones

My path in life took a while to figure out

  • 1.

First I did door to door sales because I didn't want to take SATs.

  • 2.

Then I realized I am a creator and signed up for design school.

  • 3.

Then I took the train to Costa Mesa from San Diego for my first real design job.

  • 4.

Then from Newport I traveled back and forth to LA, working as a freelance contractor for MTV.

  • 5.

I moved to Los Angeles and was laid off from MTV during the economic crash.

  • 6.

Then I worked all over town learning about the importance of legal contracts for getting paid.

  • 7.

I then found a full time job at a social media company where I learned the meaning of corporate.

  • 8.

After four years there I left again to be freelancer in hope to create my own studio in the future.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Family:

You should get a job that you can actually make money in.

  • How I responded:

You know you and what you can do. Don't be angry at those who just don't get it. If it took you this long to figure it out and you put all your focus into it, how could someone understand with just a few explanations? Do you full force... Let the universe do its thing.

Experiences and challenges that shaped me

  • Don't stop working... Work what ever job you can. It all helps later.

  • If they make fun of you. Deal with it. Let it fuel your creative mind and educate others about where you came from.

  • I was never good in learning, my mind worked differently. I found my passion by refusing to think I was stupid. I just wasn't standard.
