Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Family:

You need to help out the family.

  • How I responded:

When I was young, I wanted to go to college and become an engineer. However, because of my family’s financial situation, I had to take a job at Taco Bell to help the family out. When corporate would come to restaurant, I’d look up to them, never dreaming that I could someday be in their shoes, or that college could still be in my future. But I worked really hard and took every opportunity that Taco Bell gave me, and now I’m working at corporate and I’ve almost completed my bachelor’s degree.
