How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
My collegiate academics were very aggressive and I was always the dumbest person in the room. Always. I thought I'd never be able to understand things my classmates seemed to intuitively know, or clearly communicate what I was even thinking.
How I responded:
It is no fun to feel inadequate - but being around people who are better and smarter and more articulate than you forces you to adapt. It's like batting with weights on. For a minute, you feel like you suck at batting but then when you remove the weights (the environment where everyone is better and stronger than you) you realize how strong you've become and that you are more capable than you ever knew.
