I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
Left college after 1 year to work in a bigger city.
2.
Went back to college, changed my major three times, only to leave college yet again.
3.
Turning point in my life was when I realized that a good paying job could only come with a college education. I decided to go back to college, and I stayed till graduation.
4.
Worked for a number of different companies after graduation, trying to find my niche. After 9 years, I left retail to become a teacher.
5.
Finished my Master's Degree in School Counseling and now beginning a new journey.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
Discouragement came in the form of a lack of goals. I learned that if I continued to surround myself with people who had no ambition, I would end up like them. Unfortunately, it took me a few years to figure this out.
How I responded:
Everything in life is a choice. Whether you choose to go for what you want or not, that is your choice. Nothing worth having ever came easy. The world will test you. If you quit, you are only making way for those who actually want to succeed. Don't be a quitter. Keep going. You will get there.
