Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Parents:
Since leaving nursing, I got a lot of criticism, especially from my parents. They just couldn’t believe I would want to leave a stable nursing career for something unpredictable (in their eyes). It brought me down most times, questioning my choices.
How I responded:
I stuck with what I love and what was giving me a more rewarding feeling in the end. It took a while but once I started proving how good I was at what I can do on my own, the negative comments stopped.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
A family member struggles with addiction. I just block most of it out. I eventually deal with the issues, but I try not to let them distract me. Having a strong mindset helps me focus and reach my top goals—whether it's business or family issues.
